The snow leopards, living peacefully high up in the Himalayan mountains, away from the reach of most humans, are separated into two clans. Those clans are Shihaylee* and Dailiss**. The loner snow leopards, who live further down the mountain and have not hidden themselves sufficiently are the ones that the humans count, study and hunt. The majority of the leopards of the clans have never even seen a human. They are safe and happy. The only threat is each other, and that's fine with them. The bad leopards are a source of excitement for the wild Dailiss clan, and the Shihaylee clan is generally peaceful, so there are hardly any bad leopards anyway.
The Shihaylee clan's territory is situated between to peaks, and is a generally flat valley, with one of those, cool, clear mountains springs which humans are always trying to get to. The valley is full of the goat/ antelope-like creatures that inhabit the himalayans, like the Himalayan tahr or the much larger yak (which does not look like a goat or antelope, but has hooves). There are also plenty of birds, and maybe a few rodents here and there. The Shihaylee's territory also includes the peaks around it, which are a main source of amusement and provide shelter from the blizzards and other nasty weather conditions.
The Dailiss Clan's territory is rocky and hard to get through. The ground is swampy, and streams flow fast through it, waiting around every corner for you to fall in so it can drag you away. Luckily the Dailiss leopards are well-suited for this terrain. They are all agile and somewhat reckless, if not completely crazy. That is about the only similar personality trait they share. Other than that they all tend to be different, which makes them prone to fight with each other. The Dailiss territory has a large waterfall, and a huge river leading from it, rushing through it so fast that once your in, you don't get out until you reach the sea. And whether you get out of the sea or not depends on the the waves. By the time you get out, there's a 99% chance you're dead. Even the most insensible Dailiss member doesn't take that chance.
*Shihaylee: Shy-hay-lee. The gentle clan. Larger than Dailiss.
**Dailiss: Die-liss. The reckless clan.
